Work Shirts

2 part question really:

1. How do i go about stopping the buttons on my work shirts from yellowing. I bought 2 shirts only last week, through them in the wash, and now the buttons give off the impression i've had the shirts for years. Is it something im doing wrong when washing them (standard wash in the machine using softner) or are they simply crap shirts?

2. Bought a shirt yesterday, was in a rush this morning ironing it, was trying to break the collar but ironed an incorrect crease into it. AS collars have a hardness to them compared to the rest of the shirt, is this likely to iron out or is the crease there for good, therefore making the shirt fuc*ed?
