size 30, fits slightly bigger. dont bother with the whole not washing your jeans nonsense to get them worn in, cos ive done it for you:

Im only 5"9, how would i wear a 36" leg, wouldnt they just be scuffing the floor all the time?

It means they chop a bit of the leg of (To your requirments, so If you're average height 32) and then stitch it up so the denim at the bottom of the leg does not fray,- like with all clothes.
Costs me £15 at my local garment alteration/repair place.
The difference won't really be noticeable.
