I have the main guide ox DB and they are really comfortable - you are right about them being heavy but I can't say I have ever noticed it when wearing them. Great shoes and amazing quality, though I guess that goes without saying.

forgot to ask earlier,as I did not try those on, what is the fit like?
should you go size down up or smth or are they true?
or say compared to Common Projects?

thanx

I think it depends on the individual shoe - my canoes, Maine Guides, country rangers, sports chukkas and suede angler mocs all fit tts but my leather anglers are about 0.5 bigger.

do Yuk's give at all in terms of the leather?
just got some maine guides through, im normally a ten, sized down to 9.5 and width wise they feel a little snug
essentially they fit like a glove, zero excess space.... hoping/presuming they'll give a little maybe after some wear?

The concencus on StyleForum seems to be that they do stretch a bit, and they are the sort of boots that you need to wear in. However, I don't think Chromexcel leather is really renowned for stretching a lot.

Are they in D or E width?

If you've paid full price then I wouldn't risk it and back them. But if they are the cheap/€150 ones that were posted up last week then I'd take a chance and try wearing them in. If it doesn't work then you'll still be able to sell them on easily for what you paid.

I bought a pair of boots for roughly the same price last year. They have loosened up a bit now and are really comfortable. Worth hanging on to if you can and if they are still not right then sell them on because they're bound to sell without too great a loss because of the difference from full price.

They're a snug E imo. I've had red wing wabasha chukkas which were an E and those were a lot more roomier across teh toes. When you 'pinch' the toe box on maine guides there's less material than the RWs.
