I played union for a decade up to county level. I stopped due to the huge amount of utter cocks involved/connected

On a local level it always was reasonably working class (this was the Black Country). Anything above that I always found it very upper m-c, especially when playing in schools - we were one of only two schools in my home city who played rugby - all the other schools in around a 50mile radius who played where boarding and private schools

I find it very sad that my cousin went to that London football derby the other week ( think it was Arsenal v Tottenham) and on the way in every spectator was given a flyer pointing out that it is illegal to use racist or anti semetic language, pitiful.

You have no right to any opinion you idiot.

Rugby League= Working class game

Rugby Union= middle/upper class game

Completely correct, goes without saying. Any 'nice' area round Manchester has a rugby union team. mistake was talking about something else though, that so called big fans of union are actually in general fairweather fans.

Its incredibly unclear what your trying to say, I refuted what was said about rugby fans, and pointed out how depressing football has become, I don't look for arguments nor lower myself to name calling.

You don't know what you are talking about.
Is that clear enough?

I'm from Gloucester, a city with a proud and extremely passionate working class rugby heritage.

EVERY school in the city and in the outskirts, teaches and operates a rugby team. Purely off the top of my head, within a radius of 2 miles of the city centre I can count in excess of 20 local rugby clubs that play to a pretty good standard and have 2 or more senior teams that operate younger teams too. Two of those clubs, play in South West 1 a league that include larger town clubs that pay their players (Reading, Bracknell, High Wycombe, Swindon to name a few), neither of the two local clubs pay their players in fact players from both teams have to pay weekly subs.

Gloucester RFC and its' fans suffer from a huge degree of insularity that has been exacerbated by the perceived lack of attention paid to it by the national team and the fact that the clubs working class roots are the diametric opposite to the people that run, are involved in and play a huge part in the make-up of the game in general - I'm talking historically, back to the 70's here, not just recently (Burns/SD notwithstanding).

Whilst I agree that there is a huge middle class bias to the game, that cannot be said of the Club that I started watching when my old man took me as a 4 year old and indeed the hundreds of locals that play in the city week in, week out.

What's clear is that you somehow crowbarred a football reference into the rugby thread in a vain attempt at one upmanship.

At least your comment is clear/ taken on board/ and duely noted. Not interested in one upmanship, however coming from a working class family myself who loves rugby I don't like the sweeping generalisations about "posh" rugby fans etc.
