I could argue back and forward all day and not get anywhere with you. Did you pull those figures out of Alistair Darlings arse?

No, they're from various articles I've read.

You got all the answers mate and made up your mind - more power to you: belief is a powerful thing Cool

It's nothing to do with belief. It's quite simple to look at the figures.

If Scotland drags down England so much why was Cameron etc up here pleading we stay?

The same reason he was fucking around near oil fields going to spew out 250,000 barrels a day. One that they don't ever talk about though.

Yeah alright mate!

He is, by all accounts, a pretty passionate / dogged unionist! I got no doubt that there's some Conservatives rubbing their hands with glee at the prospect of Scotland seceding though.

You honestly think it's because he's a passionate Unionist? Christ.

He knows the UK needs our money for the likes of his pretty HS2..

Of course they are. But to ignore it is simply daft. We have it. We have more than Westminster say we do. That's just the reality.

Need Scotland'd money? Scotland had a deficit of £12bn at the last budget - how do you think that shortfall was made up? It was subsidised (which in itself was debt).

Oil revenues amount to a mere 3% of the UK budget, and that's on a good day. Oil production peaked in 1999 and has been declining ever since; UK Oil & Gas reckon there's between 30-40 years left recoverable reserves.

It wouldn't be dreadfully accurate to say that England is subsidising Scotland; more accurately you could say that London and it's orbiting towns are undeniably subsidising the rest of the UK, including large swathes of England.

It's the last I'm saying on this thread.

Shaneb. You're grasp of economics is obviously limited and you should think before you type. You're clearly regurgitating whatever shite you've read in The Daily Mail or some other rag.Repeating over and over, Scotlands £12bn deficit and saying it was subsidised doesn't make it so. I take solace in the fact youre not allowed to vote.

I agree, shouldnt be ignored but shouldnt impact on this vote, the result of the vote is forever.

I read the Telegraph & Guardian

That's true - they're the only regions that produce a surplus.

Who said anything about Scotlands money being oil and nothing else? Well apart from Cameron and all those plugs scaremongering..

30 years of oil in Norway equated to a savings fund of 1 trillion. And there's estimations of 50+ years worth left, not 30-40.

I voted yes and couldn't put it better than Andy on page 8. Another reason I see is not being associated with UK military activity abroad and the huge expense that comes with it (sorry Andy's brother).
