I think what's even more nan is being a woman who has had a child and then your child grows up and has a child also.

Will probably do same next year
Missus doesn’t drink so makes it easy as fuk for me but would recommend it either way
Just don’t go heavy into crisps and eating shit which was my mistake first few weeks
Edit: unreal how fucked up one glass of fizz can get you when you don’t drink nohomo Done the whole year other than a glass on Xmas do and one on Xmas day
My big concern is that most of my current socialising happens in pubs and everyone expects me to drink.

I now just have a drink when out for birthdays or special occasions etc.
Will stop completely for January and most of feb till I go on holiday at the end of Feb. I used to drink everyday but this year I knocked it on the head for 3 months and felt so much better.
Good for you mate - word of advice to others: depending on how much you drink, cutting it (booze or otherwise) out entirely can be dodgy - ease out of it is my advice, based on fuking bad experience
Don't give in to the pressure - skip a round or two.

Now I just don't drink a lot or often, you realise that you don't really need to after you have been off it for a while! I did anyway. I did 3 months last year, with intermittent fasting I lost 2 stone. Not bad.
Hoping to get the same effect myself. Want to lose the thirst for binging.

That's why you should drink in moderation EVERY DAY. Your body gets used to it. It's called drinking strength and you gotta build it.
Coming home from a hard day in the data pitt, putting on a Sally Yeh tape and cracking open a tall can of lager while lounging on your Sofa compact is one of the great joys in life..

This is true, and replacing it with a sugary soft drink doesn't really work. When I (mostly) stopped drinking this year I got into alcohol free beer and can recommend Erdinger and Franziskaner. I get the same pleasure from cracking one of these open in the evening. Not many pubs do decent alcohol free beer tho.
