I stopped using Franco because the thread was raggedy on one of the shirts he did, just poor stitching. I also put my hands in the pocket of some trousers he did and cut myself on a needle he left in. Who leaves a fu(king needle in trousers?!

i'd recommend him to any FUKers living in this part of London as a good alternative to the west end tailors. i've been going to Michael Wood (No One Famous tailoring) for alterations recently as he's just down the road from me in Leyton and stays open in the evenings so I can catch him after work. prices are good and i'm happy with the quality of his work, nice person too.
Contact details? (Tried Google…)
I believe these are the details http://www.qype.co.uk/place/1448892-Tailoring-Alteration-and-Design-london. Called up Michael, will see him tomorrow during my lunch break for some suit alterations…

Can't find any other alterations threads, so thought I'd ask in here. Has anyone ever had a long sleeve shirt turned into a short sleeve?
I have a chambray up in the classifieds and the sleeves are just a bit too short. No-one seems to be interested in buying so I thought I might take it to an alterations place and see what they can do. I'm assuming it's a fairly straight forward job, there's no extra fabric inside the shirt that could be used to lengthen the sleeves and they are the same width as a couple of short sleeve shirts I have, so the proportions should be alright. Just wondering if there are any issues that I've not anticipated or if anyone else has had this done?

got a label under construction trapezium skirt/ shorts that are knitted. long story short i've taken out one of the layers of knit (made of two layers hooked together) and now they don't feel as substantial. can a tailor add lining to knitwear? does anyone know a tailor who's good with knitted fabric?
cheers
