One of my coats lining is like a regular cotton, so it pulls the sleeves up on your jumper if you put it on, if that makes sense. Normally linings are silky or a material with no friction. It annoys me.
rayon/viscose is what you want. less expensive than silk and is 'breathable'. a.k.a artificial silk

So I need to get the sleeves shortened on this leather, however theres no clear seam to take the arm off from the shoulder as this picture shows:

The tailor said he can do it, but there will be a seam running underneath the underarm.
Altering its appearance from original and putting in an extra seam bothers me however and I might just sell the jacket instead.
The sleeves have zips, which is why he want to do it from the shoulders. Has anyone had zip sleeves shortened from the cuff before?

Anyone know of a decent tailor near Islington who can shorten a suit jacket (coat length and sleeves) and also shorten hem of the trousers. I know there's a couple of places on upper st and essex road but I have a feeling some of the reviews on qype are fake. Also rough indication of price if someone's had this done before. Thanks.

best place to get some sleeves shortened? i wore my obscur wool jacket for the first time today. sleeves are very noble-approved, can barely see the tips of my fingers.

they're obviously supposed to be like that, but i have a thing about sleeves being too long, and i cant handle it. makes me feel juvenile, like a kid wearing a coat too big so he can grow into it

On a similar note to Jords, Is it possible to shorten a jackets sleeve length with raglan sleeves no shoulder seams?

Depends on the jacket and what the cuffs are like. Contrary to popular belief they dont take the jacket sleeves off for every shortening in fact they rarely do.

i used to go to maurice in covent garden for both suits and jeans but last time i went the work was sloppy and he failed to properly sew up my trousers causing them to fall apart when i wore em. waste of time. too much attitiude and bad service from someone who isnt that good at his job

is there anyone good at denim repairs in london, specifically a crotch rip? i've used the denim doc before, but he's away until the 25th and i'd really like them sorted before then.
