And to start it off having looked round at deals the past few days the one I went with was T-Mobile:
£35 quid a month
free phone (desire)
600 min
500 txt
3GB fair use limit on internet (with no charges if you go over, just a slightly limited service after that)
1 flexible booster - you can change this month to month so tam i've got it on unlimited txts but you can get cheaper ear calls or unlimited landline calls and stuff

Also stocks of the desire seem well limited, my advice is calling a couple stores of what network you're on to reserve one. T-Mobile st. albans got 6 in yesterday, i reserved mine at about 11am and it was the last one. went back at 2.30 to pick it up. orange, o2 and phones 4u had none. earphone warehouse had 2.

what are good apps? my mate recommended mp3 downloader which lets you put in a song and it'll find it and download it. is there a good application manager for shutting down apps rather than have them on in the background draining battery?

I have a Hero on 3, not too bad, although 3 mobile have been the slowest at updating hte firmware on the handsets so i still have the basic 1.5 where the newer handsets have 2.2.

The Google phone put me off it after having that for 18 months. Having said that, the deal I had was pretty good and Android itself was too, it was just that the phone was terrible.

A mate from work bought a HTC Desire yesterday, as an iPhone 4 owner I'm really impressed. Definitely will consider what's about next time I come to upgrade rather than the iPhone.

This was pretty good

I come round to liking my Desire HD even though at the time I wanted a Iphone4. However, the level of control and more importantly not being handcuffed to Itunes is a blessing in itself.

Programs I use daily…

Rockplayer - plays any video format so far I thrown at it.
Dolphin Browser
Handcent SMS
Twitter
FeedR - RSS Rerader
Dropbox
Astro File Manager
Sketchbook Mobile

I was disappointed originally with the amount of content and quality compared to the appstore. But the amount of shit I had on my Iphone previously and didn't use compared to what I need know day to day.

THANK you! My HTC Desire has been opening up a different message to the one I tap..
So, I reply to the wrong person.. Got in a spot of bother because of it.. Oops

And to the replies above.. No.. It's some nutter from the weekend.. 14 calls and 8 texts in 3 days.. All unanswered.. Puzzled
