Dropping the iPhone 4 for a HTC Desire.

Unless anyone can suggest a different handset?

if you can wait a month or two a lot more handsets (including probably dual core ones) will become available.

Noticed that there's a couple of new ones out already. Any links to news articles about the new ones coming out soon?

Looks like they bring out a few new models every few months.

Yeah I have my eye on the s2 aswell. I was underwhelmed by HTC's offering this year but I do like the look of the Motorola Atrix.

Decided I'm not going to wait, and I should be picking up a Desire HD later on tonight/tomorrow so I'll let you know.

A mate at work has it, but he's completely torn apart the interface on it and heavily customised it so I couldn't get a good go on it.

I had a look in the Carphone warehouse today, but I can't seem to find a good deal with unlimited internet, texts and 500+ minutes.

Battery life's a bit shoddy but with enough tweaking you can get it to last a day. I think I was using it quite a bit over the first few days though. Really impressed with it so far, going to give it about 6-9 months and make a decision at the end of my contract on whether to go back to the iPhone.

Good apps that I've downloaded so far:

chompsms
barcode scanner
Remote RDP Lite
RomGripper (great for old Nes/Genesis games)
Fring
bubble blast 2
Advanced task killer
Stupid zombies
Dolphin browser

Lots of new Android phones coming out that will smash the iphone. Maybe not in sales, but quality wise.

Android is a decent OS, but when all is said and done, what the average consumer will be looking for is ease of use. This is obviously where the Apple prevail. It has a strong and easy to use ecosystem, the quality of apps I found is severly lacking compared to Apple's Appstore and the amount of programs which need the dual core is limited if at all non existant at this point.

think the new generation android's will have much better software. they know they got the hardware part locked down, all they need is work on the software and that is exacly whare they will put most of their efforts.

iphone 4 was/is very overrated, they even failed design wise, which is surprising.

Wouldn't be surprised if Android overtook iOS within the next 8-12 months.
