Yup. Since turning pro in 2004. Been in the shadow of greatness for so long but tonight it's his time to step out into the light. (Hopefully)

He's only 31! Wawrinka showing that you can still cut it in your thirties!

The next goal for Murray. Defending the number 1 spot from Joker in the last tournament of the tennis year.

Points given at the 02 London:

Group win = 200
SF win = 400
Final win = 500

If Joker wins 2 group games, then goes on to win, he'll get 1,300 points.

If Murray wins 3 group games and loses to Joker in the final, he'll get 1,000 points and still end the year Number 1.

Going to be close.

Just seen the draw and Murray has:

Wawrinka - best record of anyone on the tour against world number 1s

Cilic - the only player to beat Murray in a final other than Djokovic since July 2012.

Nishikori - knocked Murray out of the US open this year.

Joker has a collective winning streak of 21 wins and Zero losses over his three opponents. That's matches, not sets.

Fuck.

Scrap everything I said two posts back. Didnt account for the 275 points coming off murrays ranking for the Davis Cup defeat. Basically should Murray face Djok in either the semi final or final he will have to beat him to remain world number 1. A very tall order indeed!

Massive win today showing mental strength to give him the edge against the new world number 3. Djokovic wants the world number 1 spot back so bad. Tomorrow is going to be interesting.

Think Hoy, Farah, Redgrave, wiggins, Hamilton, Botham

Hamilton needs to be in a team with someone as consistent and fast as him (vettel, riccardo, maxi) before he can be regarded an all time great. It's basically a two horse race every year.

I was too young to appreciate Botham really.

Cycling at the Olympics is something our lottery funded heavily in in the noughties to get us ready for 2012 and new cycling events being added to the calendar helped Hoy dominate. Questions could be raised on how good the competition really was.

Farah and Redgrave I can't argue with as all time greats.

Murray for me is the best in my lifetime. I'd probably put Justin Rose second although admittedly that one's more subjective.
