Quattro Zero on Queensferry Street is cheap and cheerful but good.

Nonnas Kitchen at Morningside for Italian or Civerinos at Tron Kirk for Pizza.
Oregano is also really nice inside.

Grass Market (will be busy though).
Loads of pubs near Haymarket train station.
Rose street.

I'd avoid all of those places on match day.

Anywhere decent will be busy though.
The Cambridge Bar is good (great burgers too).
Holyrood 9A have just installed a new screen in time for the rugby.
The Three Sisters will show it on a big screen outside, great atmosphere but it'll be rammed.
The Pear Tree is a wee bit further out from the centre but also has a big outdoor screen.
McSorley's has a lot of space and is ok.

Sorry, I misread that as you were looking for a rugby pub.
Plenty bars on the streets off Princes Street such as Hanover, Frederick and Castle streets. Rose street runs parallel to Princes st and is mostly pubs. George Street runs parallel to Rose street and has loads of expensive bars and spice boys.

In Edinburgh for the week for, staying in Leith.
Anything decent around Leith, or in the centre worthy of a trip. Food, drink, anything else interesting to do? Only really have the evenings off, perhaps breakfast on the Saturday and Sunday though.

Kitchin always a shout down in Leith. I always like Cafe Marlayne on Thistle St.
Good coffee at the little place under the penhaligons shop.
