Cold Town House has apparently reopened its rooftop terrace albeit it sounds as though it is understandably fully booked

Doesn't seem to be too friendly with kids past 7/8pm with kids if you want a pint!

Head down to The Meadows, a great place to sit and chill early evening and there are good play parks (particularly the one at the east end). You can pick up takeaway beers from Bennets or The Black Ivy on the west side (and other places around I'm sure). Plenty of places to eat in Bruntsfield to the west of The Meadows but I'm not sure which ones are open at the moment and which you'd need to book.

How do you get through the gates at Edinburgh? Or any station that has gates.

Getting off at Waverly usually lucky enough to avoid the ticket bit and have the train that just allows you to walk up the stairs, but if so just go to the open one n say you left it on the train, ain't been getting questioned at all for months.

Been going up Dundee/perth a bit aswell and ain't had no ticket people say anything to me.

I mean I know they're not free at all technically but past few months it's as if no one's cared.

Almost positive you can't even buy tickets at my station (kdy) since it's been shut everytime I've went I'm sure

For those visiting and the locals who offered advice can add Bon Vivant to the recommendations to dine, just opposite El Cartel on Thistle St. Good grub and staff are great.

In the news today as it's temporarily closed down due to Covid concerns.
