Denim doc fucked a pair of my fluxus. Had to use someone else and haven't gone back. He's nothing special in my opinion to be sending them off etc. Haven't used for repair work yet though.

Denim Doctor isn't all that good. He takes like a week to do something simple and charges loads.

Would agree with that. Basically same job can get done at local alterations spots.monoy used him for crotch repairs, nothing serious,

He tapered the inseam (slightly) and just messed it up, it twisted a bit and stitching was really off. His repair work looks pretty good but id rather just use a local tailor. Not 'zip yard' though Laughing out loud

I'd hem my PS so that i can wear them with just one turn up, as i can't really stand bulky turn ups anymore.

i've never washed nor soaked them yet, should i do that before hemming? Thanks!

I still like the contrast you have with just one single, small turn up, but not more than that!

Yeah one single fold of the hem is perfect for me. Needs stacking too though.

Not necessary unless you would have washed them regardless of getting them hemmed. Keep in mind they do shrink after the first wash ( if the denim is unsanforized ) so if you don't wash them beforehand then leave them slightly longer as otherwise they might end up too short.

Understand needing these services for repairs but why not just buy jeans that fit/have the cut you want in the first place?

Agreed, tapering jeans just doesn't seem worth the effort. Especially when there's so much choice out there, its not difficult to find a pair that you like.

Well hemming for example, lots of Japanese denim. Momotaro, japan blue, pure blue, kamikaze attack; all comes unhemmed with 36+ inseams… So can't see that being ideal to many people. Even after shrinkage they'll still be about 35" usually..

Got some Japan blue JB0401 raws in a size 32. Broken in nicely but still pretty rigid and lovely shape. Fit true maybe 0.5" smaller. Lovely fades starting. Would only be looking for £70 shipped if anyone's interested. Give me a pm.

EDIT: meant for normal denim thread
