Will definatly get one if they're only £389 on release

is 16Gb the total storage it's got, thats not much for a PC, can you extra memory in it ?

Yeah thats the total storage. I dont think its supposed to be considered as your pc though

yeah, the base model. it isnt really comparable to a PC though, at the moment its pretty much a big ipod touch, but some of the apps are a lot better than what you can do on a smaller screen. i would have thought even better apps will start to be released before it is out in the UK. nobody seems to know what its exactly for yet, but it isnt meant to replace a PC or laptop - you need to hook it up to one via itunes to get any files on to it for a start…

Smiling Just had a 10 minute spin on it

- The pixel density is low (as already mentioned). Not a huge deal though.
- The refresh rate is low too. Swipe from one screen of apps to another and they all smear.
- Apart from the low pixel density and refresh rate, the screen is amazing. Bright and viewable from all angles. iBooks is very life-like, almost appears 3D.
- Typing in landscape mode is amazing. Just as fast as using a real keyboard. I'm very impressed and can easily see me bashing out lengthy emails in no time.
- It feels wonderful. Expensive too. A nice weight to it and just the right size.
- The screen gets covered in smudges and grease. Just like my iPhone I guess.
- It really does feel like a game-changing device. Makes my iPhone look like a piece of crap.
- Can't wait to get my own come the UK release!

Cost 549 as well…Probably will run like a boiled turd and won't have the app support. They ought to stick to printers and brown sauce

^Its running Windows 7 and you're talking no app suppport?, the hardware behind it is sound and blows the Ipad which runs a glorified smartphone CPU. The problem lies with the battery lifespan being so short and how well optimised the OS is for it.

Slate = $549. Ipad = $499. Now my maths is pretty good but maybe I missed that day at school where they told you the special rule when numbers could hold a different value

Your telling me the slate is going to be hyped up enough to move 300,000 units in a on first day sales?

If the slate does better than the ipad I will put all my items of clothing in the classifieds section and will even pay for P&P even if it is to some made up address in Guam.
