I got my iPad mini when they were released so had it a while now, my initial thinking was that I would only use my macbook for part-time freelancing and chilling on the sofa and browsing I'd use my mini, it's worked out pretty sweet. It means my macbook doesn't get over used with heavy software, music, webpages etc and it has sped up loads, and the iPad mini is much nicer to use to browse basic shit, however if you plan to use it for any type of work/ presentation based stuff the standard iPad would be more appropriate.
I apologize for not talking you out of it haha, but I've actually found that by buying one has probably meant that i'll get a few extra years of use from my macbook and they look a ton cooler than the standard iPad IMO Cool

Cheers. I agree with your points as that’s been my thinking when i’ve been messing around with one in store. I’m also with you and the look and durability of the mini. I’ll have to see.

Any decent ipad mini covers about? I have the screen cover thing with the magnetic strip but wanted a more substantial case for when I travel with it.

Been solely using an iPad retina for a few weeks now since my macbook air died. Gotten more used to it but it's still a massively frustrating experience, even purely as a web browsing device. Some sites don't work, others cause it to slow to a crawl, then you'll get tabs where the internet just seems to stop working or they'll reload on their own. Forever clicking links numerous times because they either don't register the click or you hit the link next to it etc etc. One of the most annoying things for me is the angle of the screen, with the laptop you can angle the screen where you want, with the ipad, when you're not holding you have to rely on a folding case or resting on something and you can't get it vertical. That along with all the other obvious restrictions, still don't 'get it' really.

Recently bought GTA Vice City on iTunes - so good. Must be 10 years (or more!) since it came out on PS2 yet it's still pretty fresh (no Kool and the Gang).

Yeah. Well, I say 'yeah', it's a helluva lot better than I was expecting it to be - I'm happy with it and my patience isn't the best when it comes to anything that might sour the experience.

I used to be able to watch virtually all of the vids on youtube through safari browser, now all of a sudden I get "sorry, this video is not available on this device" for nearly all of them. What gone wrong?
