Are you going for one?
I was just about to order one, but I resisted.
The way I see it, I was originally going for the £429 basic 16GB/Wifi model. But you add £30 onto that for the case, and you're looking at £460. But although I won't have any music on there, when I start adding some videos (which will have to be pretty high resolution, too), photo libraries, and cbr, and then when apps start to take up more and more space, 16GB starts to look a bit weedy. So add £70 onto that for the 32GB version, because I don't want to be left with the 16GB version if it turns out it's not enough.
But then, I have this wonderful piece of kit with a great web browser and plenty of apps requiring internet access, so wouldn't it be nice to be able to use it anywhere, even if I don't have a wifi connection? And I don't want to buy a wifi model and then discover it's useless to me without 3G. So yes, it's an extra £100 for that. Plus a monthly charge.
In the end, it's over 600 quid for this thing. 600 quid. Fuck. I came to my senses and closed the browser window. I think I'm going to sit this one out, but buckly most probably.

Throw another £10 PCM from O2 for the 3G it seems, at least you get the BT openzone wifi for that as well.
As phelen says the 3G is really useful when out and about, guess you could get by with 16GByte, but as its not upgradeable 32GByte is the sweet spot for music and films.
so your talking £720 to run it for 1 year = £60 PCM (at least the contract is only 30 days)
compared to iphone 3GS

£60 PCM gets you a iphone 3GS 32GByte with unlimited everything (24s months)
for at home use, I can see no point using the ipad when I already have a laptop and a desktop PC.
For on the move use I already have a HTC desire (free - work) and a Iphone 3G 16GB
Unless I want to see something big (eg films, photos) on the move, or to take to show someone else those items and the 17" laptop is too big to carry, then the iPad has some use.
£60 PCM for that purpose is a bit niche.
Rather use the cash to get a 4G iphone in late june.
