Might be aswell staying in Leeds tbh mate, but failing that, Burntwood Court Hotel is one of the best local ones I can think of…

Exhibitions definitely worth a visit. We went up from Edinburgh so not sure on whats nearby but stayed in York. Never been before and it was Cool

Went on Thursday, it's quite a lot of work for a little one (I assume you'll take your boy) due to the amount of distance and the mud, which meant that certain paths were closed off. Bob, whose a similar age to your son, enjoyed it but it was tough going on him and he got tired quite quickly so we only really saw the Kaws stuff and a Julian Opie horse that he became obsessed by.

If you want to see the indoor stuff, which I'd recommend, then you have to either get the shuttle bus from the main entrance or walk the length of the park, which is around 5k. However, we spoke to the people on the info desk as we missed the last shuttle bus down to the gallery and because we had a pushchair, they said that we could just drive round there and park by the gallery, which the public aren't normally allowed to do.
