TS45/ L450 looks great seenmy.here it is wall mounted in Rams house with the addition of the TG60.You'll see that his deck is sitting on 606 shelving as all his audio equipment was designed to fit in with the shelving system.

You should buy "Less & More .The design Ethos of Dieter Rams".Excellent book which was released a couple of years ago to tie in with his retrospective at the Design Museum, which was also great !

it is actually not vitsoe width (unless the tg60 is wider) as these units are 47cm and vitsoes short shelf is 61cm, I am setting it up with a box built around it on the wall to allow the wires and airport to sit behind it all hidden on the wall.like below:

I might well pick up another set up maybe a full one minus the deck for the bedroom at some point and set it up more like above with our units,

I have most of the rams books, less & more , less but better ,as little design as possible, all very good, the last is best I think as the pictures are much better.

How's the sound quality Seenmy ? Im tempted to look for one configured with a deck as I've decided against the snow whites coffin. As much as its a classic design the sound quality is poor in today's terms

Looking to upgrade to some Sonos for throughout my house however whilst looking for general audio I came across the new JBL Authentic Speakers.

Still gonna go for Sonos but the JBL's do look pretty cool…

current setup:

SONY (YES, SONY BITCH) SS-AL5 Mk IIs (engineered in UK, highly regarded)
SONY entry level SA-CD player, SCD-XE800 (nothing spectacular but good reviews)
SONY DA-50ES, all ES components, made in Japan. very well regarded, cost me $150.
SONY DVP-S7700 DVD player. The first and the best, chipped for multiregion, built like a tank, not marked as ES but made in japan and considered to be on par, especially with CD playback.

Also got a SONY LD player and Hi Fi VHS deck.

People that disregard Sony as shit are so closed minded. Remind me of the idiots I knew that laughed at hi-end TEAC stuff in the '90s, because the licensee here used the brand to sell crap, in Japan it was some of the best stuff you could get. Kinda like how people scoff at Stussy, but if you got the Jap stuff, it's a whole different world.

Next purchase is going to be a used SCD-XE5400ES SA-CD player, should improve things some but I'm happy with what I got.

Last purchase, ES grade minidiscs, need a proper ES minidisc deck in the future too (Just running my MZ-RH1 Hi-MD walkman through minjack to my amp at the moment, ebay germany here I come..

Get some Auralex Mopads for your speakers. You'll definitely hear a difference.

I dunno, stuff like that seems like half voodoo placebo shit, Sony actually say spikes/isolation bases aren't necessary on their latest high end bookshelves, which are a similar build/weight to the AL5s..

Do you use em Mrtyn? On what speakers? Really an audible difference?

I use them for my Tannoy studio monitors.. How much difference they make depends on what you have your speakers on beforehand. Mine were sitting on a wooden desk and the bass was really muddy. So much so that I was considering sending them back. I'd ordered Mopads at the same time from a different supplier so waited to try them first. Massive difference. Bass tightened up which in turn led to far more clarity and seperation through all the ranges. We're talking they sounded like different speakers.

A lot of hifi tweaks are voodoo but proper support for speakers really works.

And Mopads cost fuck all so any improvement you get is worthwhile.
