Arket is class, but not sure I’m backing them for a hiking backpack. If it’s gonna get occasional use, what’s the point in getting something pricey??

I bought one of those C6 slim backpacks for work. Pretty good and not bulky

Yeah, about double what I want to spend.
These options are all very pretty but I'm after something a bit more technical and lightweight.

Have a look at Fjällräven's "trekking backpacks" (not as hypebeasty as their High Street stuff and more technical) and Haglöfs for technical bags that aren't quite as outdoorsy-looking as some brands.

Don't know what your budget is illwill - but the Arcteryx Arro is pretty techy. have had my eye on it for a while but can't justify yet another bag

Arcteryx looks great but it think it's a little small and I'm in danger of looking like a matchy matchy fanboi if I buy any from of their stuff.
