I havent personally stayed round there but its abit out the centre. I expect you can get a train in fairly easy.

To hijack, was struggling to find a decent place in Gracia so staying right near Ciutadella park instead. Any good around there? Decent bars etc?

Sala Apollo is a good shout for a big group too, tends to book better DJs and it's a stones throw from El Raval which let's face it is where a stag party is going to be out drinking (absinthe at Marsella), negotiating the metro to Razz where youre tanked up is a bit messy - having said that walked back just fine if youre willing to sacrifice 30 minutes, walked all the way from the bottom of Las Ramblas to Clot mandied off my face once.

Going this week with mates. Been a few times with my bird, but it obv isn't the same.

Just looking for some recommendations for decent bars, good restaurants - nothing too baller.

The seafront restaurants near the beach at Barceloneta like Can Majo and Salamanca are pretty decent. There's also a couple of tapas places near Born worth checking out - Taller de Tapas and Sagardi

Where would be a good area for drinking through the day on a Sat? Stag do, but not too lairy.. got nights planned and other days but need a day of booze.

Is Eixample area worth a look? Had it down for a day but every just keeps mentioned El Raval Laughing out loud

Eixample is quite nice, El Born is better, highly recommend Parc de la Ciutadella.

You can hire rowing boats which is always a laugh.

Mostly residential, Raval and Gotico are the real party areas

Walking distance from El Gotico and really close to Razzmatazz.

tbh any of the central areas are completely walkable and the subway/tram system is great, you really don't need to worry about being too far

just got back.
can't recommend Tapas 24 enough. basically get everything off the menu that comes on the back of the foil envelope. black truffle sandwich & the foie gras burger, rabbit chops are my favourite.
managed to get in Cal Pep as well this time. really good. not cheap mind you.
