Just find an apartment, avoid airbnb if group of guys as most are in residential blocks and you will get complaints.

Opium one of the best clubs on the beach imo, a table in the VIP area in-between the bar and the dance floor isn't cheap but it is impressive when the club is packed.

If you want something a little less mainstream and cheaper then jamboree is decent, but they play some serious hood music, so not for everyone and upstairs is usually some cheesy shit or commercial dance.

El Pachuco is great for mexican food, its a small mexican bar that serves food until like 2am, its small so you may have to wait for a table, but the food is good and cheap.

There also a chicken shop/dirty burger there, the wings are Cool

barceloneta beach is packed. tube out to badalona and you are winning. some good bars on the beach there too - way less tourists

stay in raval if you are young-ish. coolest part of the city

Personally I think Madrid is 10x times better for a break with the other half, but of course it doesn't have a beach.

Barceloneta is decent, but the beach is quite dirty, the clubs on the beach, opium, shoku, catwalk etc all back on to the beach and people go fuck and drink, take drugs etc on the beach and then go back in to the clubs so the beach is full of bottles, cans, condoms, plastic bags etc. They clean it up every day but its not what I would call clean, deffo grip one of those big cloths that people will be selling near the beach to sit on. They will try and tell you they are 25 euros, don't pay more then 10 euros.

right going next week and done next to no research, are the seguda familia and park gaudi (sp?) 100% definitely worth it?

also can anyone recommend 1-2 other touristy type things to do, a few nice places to walk around and some cool bars ?

staying in eixample. gonna hit the beach a couple of times too.

Id go to Sagrada Familia and do a tower tour unless you don't like heights, the inside is impressive. I didn't go to park guell, didn't think it looked that great from picures but went to a couple of other gaudi buildings in the centre, didn't go here but I think the early morning tour might be worth trying just to avoid the crowds:

You'd be nuts not to go to the Sagrada, pay the extra to go up the towers as well, Parc Guell I haven't been since they started charging but maybe it's a bit less mobbed with bus tours now. I'd do Casa Batllo instead if you were to see two Gaudi things, it's almost right off where you're staying as well wheras Guell is a bit of a mission.

I'd recommend going up to Montserrat for sure, the hill/park around the Olympic village is good for a walk, watch the magic fountain display down the bottom round about 8-9ish.

Mataro and Sitges have great beaches, both a short train hop in opposite directions down the coast.

My favourite Gaudi building in Barcelona is Palau Guell. It's just off the La Rambla and is generally much less mobbed by tourists. It's an earlier one and a bit less megolomaniacal, and an amazing sequence of spaces.

^^ +1 on that.

El Born the best neighbourhood for me. Much more relaxed and close to some prime cutty spots … botanical gardens and some nice quiet squares. Nice place to eat nearby called La Candela.

going in July for 4 nights with my gf, any veggie restaurants or other reasonably priced restaurants worth checking out?

we wanted a city break but where we can chill and go to the beach, I've seen swede's suggestion to get out to badalona, but are there any other beaches worth keeping in mind too?

Cool little spot called LAUT for an intimate club vibe later on
Go to El Pachuco for good Mexican - super small inside though, very casual
