id definitely recommend living in barca….i was there over the summer

they jus have a better way of life…i know it sounds so cliche, but they really are a lot more relaxed just in general than people in england

then plus the weather, good night life and just the fact that it is a once in a lifetime oppprtunity

go for it!

oh yeh and the there are a LOT of hot women in barcelona!

the nightlife is really good, cos you've always got young people and students etc stayin in the hostels when their travelling…so atmosphere in most places is good….and i think people tend to be a lot easier with meetin new people and talkin to randoms than over here…cos people are really friendly so you'll never have any trouble finding people up for a good night out

as for actual places to go out…there are loads of different types, they cater to a lot of tastes really. Like they have their expensive almost london like clubs, if thats what your into…a lot of house and electro too….i spent most time near la ramblas and places around there, cos they're quite cheap and always full of people…and they play good varities of music, like you'll get your old classics, hip r n b, cheese, dance music too…so theres good variety

lots of good nightclubs depending what you are into. Nitsa club, La Terrazza and The Loft are all good for techno/house.

working abroad is wicked. can be hard at first - with language and not knowing too many people but is usually a good experience. i worked in japan for a year - was fucking great. if i had option to work in barcelona i woudln't hesitate.

i can speak a little spanish at the mo, really wanna learn another language fluently as i believe this, as well as being able to play an instrument is something u have to be able to do in life.

i may do more education while working over there, like do a masters in something as they run courses in english, also my dad and sister are there and they both speak spanish fluently so that should help.

wonder what they style is like over there…

Just got back from spending a week in Barcelona. It is a nice place, weather is lovely, 75% of the year anyway. Even during the winter I think the coldest it gets is 10-15 degrees. But when it rains, it rains hard. Beaches are lovely too, so clean and nice! Though I did notice a lot of dog owners there who let their dogs shit all over the place. So watch where you step, especially if you have some nice sneaks on!

Food there is ace, as they have the benefit of such lovely weather, the fruit and veg are massive, absolutely massive, tasty too. Also the advantage of being near the sea so you get lovely fresh seafood. Which is what I ate the majority of the time being there. Oh and the bread too, the bakeries, nothing like have a freshly baked bagette which was baked right in front of you.

I will say though, it's worth learning some Spanish/Catalonian. We just about managed with the basics, thanks to the guide book and as usual they do appreciate the effort.

Was there for the second time last weekend and I almost forgot just how good it is. Beautiful city, mellow way of life, great bars and restaurants, a beach and great weather - what more could you ask for. People are cool as well and as Rirawin says, they appreciate you even making a half-arsed attempt at speaking Catalonian.

Was at the Barca game when we were there and that was an experience as well - it's a bit weird getting out a game at midnight.

We needed a whole new rating scale to rate the girls out there as the UK standards just dont compare.

GO!!!

Barcalona is fucking awesome. Pretty much lawless. You can buy alcohol/drugs (no junkie) 24/7 almost anywhere. Good clubs. Good weather. I dunno what fool told you about the women but spanish women are BEAUTIFUL. Also on the beach knowone is uptight its top's off all round. The sea itself is full of rubbish but cest la vie. Such a relaxing place to be.

Lots of culture if thats your thing. The view from around the olympic stadium is incredible.

Only thing is they are stuck in the late 80's/early 90's. It's mullets all round…not that it will really affect you.

Moral of the story is GO.
