Not at all, 1080p is only really noticable on a 50"+ screen.
Save the coin and get a good 720p 100hz panel.

The general answer is no depending on size of screen. Saying that I paid a bit more to get a 1080p on a 42" as I just wanted to be covered. Blu-Ray is not a route I'm going down yet but if I did then it outputs at 1080p. Sky HD is 720p max. The 360 and PS3 games are in the main written at 720p as well.

ive got a 720p 32" but fancy a 42"+ - i cannot drill holes in the wall off my new rented place and i dunno where the stand for my samsung is
i never watch films off dvd i always watch downloaded avi's and use xbox,
a decent 100MHZ 720p it is
