I got one of those philips one blades… ok for trimming but can't use it for shaving

My beard trimmer has given up the ghost.

What do people recommend to maintain a 5-6mm beard (sometimes longer, sometimes more stubble like).

I use a wahl super trimmer, its a pro barber edging tool good for shaving your bonce too

Bought this cheap as chips (now only £33) and it does the job at 3-4mm and 1mm just fine. Never clogged etc:
