One thing that puts me off passing driving test, then never driving for years, it MUST make you a shit driver. Its like doing anything for years, kung fu, open heart surgery, baking, only to stop for 4 years and to restart.

also nicking a proper bit of crumpet and she agrees to go out with you on a date to the pictures and a meal or something, and you knock on the door to pick her up in hiking boots and a rucksack and you walk her to the bus stop and join the que with the poor people in minus 3 and pissing down with rain is so not cool in my book either, it must shorten your birding oportunities by 90% imo.

I dont drive, and thats purely coz i can't afford a car, and won't be able to until i finish uni. I cope pretty well, and it doesn't bother me at uni, but when i'm home, it becomes more of a problem. Nobles right about meeting crumpet, it's annoying having to meet em there, and stuff. My last bird drove, so i got a lot of lifts, but i felt like such a bitch sitting in the passenger seat all the time.
christmas is an easy time to not drive…visiting rellies with pressies and everything on no buses or one train a day, and cabs being all double time or fully booked…now i know why the street boys buy those big fuck off vis bags, to take the kenwood coffe maker etc for mum on the bus.

im in agreement with Noble. Im suprised more people arnt drivers but can understand it if you're living in london….although I think alot of people go there for that reason, you dont need a car to do a wide variety of things.
I dont mind being a passenger…but I couldnt put up with a girlfriend driving me around all the time..doesnt seem right to me.
Also I enjoy driving….gives music a different perspective too.
