he's proud of you nonetheless

My Dad's never been proud of me, was recently worried I'd kill myself he thought my life was so pathetic compared to his and all his friends' sons. Thought never actually crossed my mind, gotta stay alive to inherit Eye-wink

Anyway I did send some angry emails at work and got a pitty interview.

Got a call on Monday saying I didn't get it because I "wasn't passionate enough about technology", eg they wanted me to say I'd set up a twitter account for my team or some shit. Aussies hate that shit, we don't want to be on work twitter 24/7. I personally despise all social media and think definitely it's useless in my job. Anyway it was just an excuse because they hate me.

Why don’t you get a job you are passionate about then?

What part of MLI is genuine and what part is some peculiar off-beat type of humour and exaggerated reading of things.

Anyway, sorry to hear that you didn't get the job. Doesn't seem like a thing you couldn't have a civil talk about with your employer.

Best:
Requested for, and received surgical staples instead of itchy stitches.

Worst:
Loosening one staple overnight turning the bed into a Crimean war field hospital.

Wish I'd had staples in my foot after surgery. Ended up with non dissolvable stitches but everyone thought they were dissolvable ones, foot ended up pretty much absorbing them and turned into a disgusting, painful, infected mess.

my job isn't technology. It's entering data. I've been doing it for 7 years with no problems. It sure beats being unemployed like I was for almost a full 2 years before that.

I earn more than I ever did in my life, over AUD$50,000 a year if I do overtime. If I eat basic and don't travel/have a car I can afford to rent an apartment and buy some toys and beer. Better than renting a bedroom in a house with 8 other people like i used to when I was unemployed.

I LOVE my job.

Believe me, it was. Ended up having to have the stitches picked out of the infection with no anesthetic at my local nurses office, would rather have the surgery twice over than go through that pain again.

Took a heavy punch to the nads during sparring once, pain was a close 2nd but I'd still take that over the stitch removal.
