Never really got Porter.
Super expensive here but was cheap and available in lots of shops in Japan.
Stuff just looked a bit cheap and nan kid to me.

Porter isn't going anywhere!
It's Head Porter, which is the clothing range.
Shame, always liked their chinos and had a really cool wool a2 jacket by them at one point that I got too fat for.
Also in my experience Porter bags just *last* - found them all really well made compared to other brands.

Agreed,I got a porter duffle bag years ago and its taken a beating and still looks great and the hardware is all intact. Use to be able to pick them up in the sales for cheap but think the brand is hyped up a bit nowadays.

Rez, What is the difference between Headporter and Headporter Plus?
Byte, the hipsters have clocked.

Headporter is the bags\luggage label while HPP is the clothing line.
Both founded by Hiroshi Fujiwara in collaboration with Porter

There's more variety than ever in everything, yet everything is more and more homogenised. I don't really know how to explain it, I went to a wargames show this weekend . I've been going since the early 1990s most years and it's bigger than ever but the variety of games and events is the least ever. What a world..

come on then…I'll bite.
A War Games Show…..whats that all about then….

A game or just setup? like D+D but with bullets? so confused.

Is Penfield still regarded as decent outdoorsy wear? Remember back in 2011 I bought a parka and a down jacket (one with the leather yoke), but heard almost nothing about them in the past few years. Sign of bad quality? Or just not keeping up with the times?

I had one of their parkas in 2010/11? shite quality. gave it to a charity shop after a couple of seasons

Decent heritage brand that kicked the arse out of the outdoor-wear wave by reducing quality.
Went for mid-market rather than upmarket like Woolrich/Sierra/Holubar/Rocky etc

They now do another brand called “Cape Heights”

I didn't realise those were connected
