having lived in shoreditch/hackney for 6 years then coming back to bristol(study here so spend half my time in the city) i've noticed every day it gets closer to the shitty gentrification of east london.
but agreed it's probably my peers that drive the change. people were going crazy over that porridge place in the centre when it opened.

Without getting too deep about it, it’s born from the hysteria created online. Be that social media, or news sites (BristolPost is essentially buzzfeed), unfortunately there’s a lot of hype attributed to these places.

Wheresas growing up it was a word of mouth thing. I guess like buying Bape and supreme early on compared to now. It’s online hype that creates the demand for the samey-safe, paint-by-numbers businesses. Unfortunately there’s a market for it.

Just heard someone dies from ‘suspected mdma’ at motion over the weekend. Cue more hysteria and regulations.

Bring back the Nokia raves.

bit different to the run of the mill places but have you guys ever been to bulrush? couldn't see it mentioned in the last few pages but saw it recommended somewhere recently had a very good review.

If you're ever out in the countryside further towards my way I can really recommend pony and trap and the ethicurean if you've never been.

Oh is it? Always assumed it was Smeaton.

I had my wedding party at The Ethicurian and was there on Sunday for lunch as well. Love the place.

After great hope that the run of shops along the Wells Road would turn into a couple of nice places, it looks like it’s being turned into a ‘healing yard’. Laughing out loud

Bullrush is class. As is wilsons on chandos road and no mans grace - especially the lunch deal they do is ridiculous value. Heard rumours that polpo and spuntino will be closing soon. Also anyone south of the river should look out for “Hugos” a new deli and green grocers opening up in the new year

I think this is the best place to post this,

If anyone knows anyone looking to rent out a room in Bath could they please let me know.

Trying to find one on SpareRoom is seemingly difficult.

That place looks super nice Carl. I'm currently looking for a 1-2 bed for myself and the missus so if anyone knows anything good going, please shout.

Actually came to this thread to mention Mrs Potts at the bottom of Park Street. If you have a sweet tooth it's highly recommended - the salted caramel chocolate cake is dank and the place smells incredible.
