Ok my internet used to be really fast for browsing and online games, now its shit.

the internet disconnects when you answer the phone and hang the phone up, i rang indian telecoms and they basically told me they'l send out an engineer but if its my fault and not BT's i get charged £250

has anyone else had this problem? and could tell me what the problem is?

thanks

if no hardware changed since when it was fast it sounds like it could be the filter? tried changing it?

also, just make sure you follow them to the word when they assist you on checking the connection over the phone. It will slim down the chance of the £250 charge.

line filter is bust, check the bit the phone(s) are connected through, like a plug through adapter on the phone socket.

all phones have to be connected to the socket through a line filter.

should have your filter and router connected to the master socket for best signal anyways.

BT broadband has worked fine for last few years then on thursday suddenly went down. It shows an orange light. I called BT they said there was an area fault (although my neighbours works it seems!) and would be fixed saturday. Got back from holiday today and its still not working. Going to call them again but wondering has anyone had this and know another fix ? don't know whether they're just fobbing me off with this area fault malarky..

Only ever had it for a short time, like an evening, and then back to normal. You should also be able to get a refund for the time that the service has been down

They gave me that bullshit excuse too. My router had just given up so I searched eBay for the nearest person selling one and offered them £10. Picked it up the same day. Can't be fooked waiting on BT to pull their finger out.

The broadband trouble shooter thing on their website can check your line and reset the connection. That's always sorted mine out when it's done that.

Had the same thing happen at my folks house, tried all the usual things. Engineer came out, after a good couple of hours he figured out someone had changed something around at the BT end of things. Effectively they turned off the broadband or something along them lines.

Had never had any issues before just went off overnight.

Yep, he tried everything. New router, went to the exchange, checked the wiring in the house the lot. Spoke to their technical lot and went through it with them, they did something at their end and it came back on.

Obviously can't say that's defo your problem but that's what happened for us.

This is heartbreaking. So sad but rely so much on internet and I'm too much of a pussy to ask my neighbours for their passer

I like those Kevin Bacon adverts more than I should. Switched to EE from BT and never had it so good.
