Opens start of December, operated by Superdenim, they will get own stock from Japan separate to the Superdenim stock I think.

Be interesting to see what the pricing is - I'd imagine that as part of the franchise licence they'd be getting discounts on wholesale rates? I have no idea how it works in fashion.

I imagine pricing will be the same as Superdenim, will just be good to be able to try on the stuff before dropping £500+ on a jacket

I'd like to see a bit of a drop, some of the restocks have come down in price a little the peacoat is only £575 now it was £695 last year iirc, obviously something to do with the week yen at the moment

Good news that. and to be honest, theres nothing wrong with SD prices right now

I'm having gripes with Nagoya customer services at the moment - they've brought out a new navy c/w of the ballpark sweat, and used the colour code of the old navy c/w which is still for sale Evil. Now I've got to pay shipping back and forth, then customs again. csb but it would have been a lot easier with superdenim

How do prices compare buying direct like that?

the sweat was £98 shipped. I paid £32 in customs. They will probably mark down/remove tags if you ask

I'd have thought they'd offer some price drops - otherwise what are they paying a licence fee for? If SD are using Real McCoys property (like branding etc.), then that'd be a franchise arrangement and you'd pay a licence for that - franchisees normally receive something in excess than IP (like branding) - normally discounts on wholesale, training or something else. Though I have no idea how it works in fashion. Who knows though.

Cheers for info Mark.

But why would the Covent Garden shop undercut the SD website? I don't think they can / will as the rent on the store must be huge. If someone else ran SD they could try and pass on any margin gains of the franchise deal to the customer.

I assumed they wouldn't be offering e-commerce? Otherwise it wouldn't make sense, or at the very least SD would sell all RM stock via the new franchise.

I suppose I just don't see the point in paying for use of a brand if there's no tangible benefit - unless maybe they can distribute different products?

well the main benefit is availiblity in an unfamiliar market. I doubt they will undercut mccoys. they will also probably sell all the mccoys store gear on SD's website like Blue n green does

Suppose it's worth mentioning here that the Real McCoys shop (opposite Nigel Cabourn and next to the Glen E. Freidman exhib) opened yesterday
