Yeah the edition is great, my favourite place to drink now when i'm feeling a bit flush. The punchroom is nice, been to a couple of things there.

Does it have to be a bar? Not more of a pub? The only 'bars' I've known that book out areas have been absolute shithouse. Was gonna suggest you book an area in a pub, say Hunter S, and walk down to the strip after.

Not the city but not too far.

Night Jar at Old Street Roundabout is quality. Might be too late to get a table though.

L'anima just looks like a restaurant, assuming your taking a bird it don't look like the sort of place to get one excited.
Try here http://www.whistlingshop.com just off bishopsgate, it's dark and quiet and do great drinks.
