Their landlord took possession including all of their stuff (they had paid to get utilities put in etc as well I believe), turfed them out and is opening his own bar - cheeky sod

Not sure if central enough but Borough Market has 2 or 3 good pubs (Wheatsheaf, Rake and Market Porter) very busy drink outside kind of thing. Often go on a Friday after work.
Wheatsheaf used to be a great pub. Untouched since probably the 50's & full of regulars. Now just another identikit boozer for passing trade.
Had a book about it when it closed (supposedly for good ) http://brownseditions.com/bookstore/book-details/product/the-wheatsheaf-rip/

Always thought It was a shite bar, but not too bad in terms of the crowd.
Any decent pubs to head towards in Central London?

Interesting.
I have only known it in its current guise, they don't have the beer selection of the other two but it has a younger crowd so thought it was worth mentioning.
Also the George Inn across the road is OK, not a great beer choice but cosy inside and heated outside area.
Anyway, London is obviously massive so don't go on my recommendation

What are people's opinions of Juno on Shoreditch High Street? Have been talking to the owners about doing something in there but don't want to associate myself with somewhere that's just full of wastegash Essex types thinking that they're hot shit cos' they were brave enough to leave Loughton on a Friday night.
