sweets were good as well then. much fewer cars. nothing open bar a few newsagents for a few hours but yes the most different thing is that all us kids would play outside in the street. you would only touch base for a glass of squash and a club biscuit then be out for 5 hrs straight

Too young for for 1976 but from what i can remember from growing up (80's) was in the summer you'd go out with your mates in the morning and not come back till the street lights came on.

Out walking the dog earlier and I hear the unmistakeable tip tapping of boot studs on tarmac. Within seconds, rugby man (as mentioned in the Randoms thread HERE) jogs around the corner decked out in his usual attire, rugby ball tucked under his arm and rocking a pair of clip on shades over his glasses.

Haven't seen him for ages. Made my day Smiling

Girlfriend moves out next week, my mate's back from New Zealand this weekend, our five a side team has started up again after a five year break and I move in here next month, 50 yards from all the pubs and restaurants in the village. Gonna be a good summer

Laughing out loud

It's a converted chapel, originally built in the late 1800s and I don't believe in ghosts, thanks Friend Smiling

Bit cruel to take your (soon-to-be) ex with you on the viewing though. Look how miserable she looks.

What I remember is that back then it was so hot in summer that the tarmac on the roads melted.

epic gaff robii - was going to have that sofa for my old flat but it would have taken up most of the room.
