You say 'mum earns less than half that' as if 40-50k isn't a good wage

dad earns £100k+, mum earns less than half that.
three story house, just had a 100K+ extension. nice little village. two nice cars, audi & vw.
all us three kids work and we all have ever since we were old enough to do a paper round. im the eldest at 19. my parents work incredibly hard to provide and to be where they are today. we are in no way spoilt and get £70 spent on each of us for our 'big' christmas present, if its more than £70 then we have to put the rest in ourselves.
we dont go on expensive holidays every year, simply cause we dont have the time. one of us is always doing something.
ive been bought up on 'work then play'
where do i sit?

I grew up spending the school holidays mixing concrete and used to go fox hunting at the weekend. There were tinkers in my class at school. My father owes the bank 2.3 million due to the crash, but everything is in my mothers name. My day now consists of getting up around 2 pm, checking my emails and seeing how much money I made over night. Then I might go salmon fishing for the evening. When ever I am bored I hop on a plane somewhere.
I don't think I'm working class now, but I'd be able to do a days manual labour no problem if I had to. I'm not middle class as I don't hold the same values as they do at all. And I'm definitly not upper class as it doesn't exist in Ireland. I'd say I'm a new type of country gent.

I don't think my areas that bad tbh, lived in a high rise flat, then two council houses round here all my life up (a 2 bed and 3 bed) until a bout 3 years ago when my mom saved up enough money to start buying the house, was like 70k or something, to make sure she could keep up with the repayments she gives me and my sister fuck all nowadays, which is understandable considering our ages. But like I said, we lived in a council house in a not too bad area (although a lot of people seem to think it's a right shit hole, might just be because I'm from there, that I can't see it) and although I'd see myself as working class, there's some people in my area that I would definitely see as middle class.
There's a shit load of other stuff I could say but tbh I'd be quite embarrassed to. I want to be involved on the list though, put me in working

since my dads an immigrant surgeon he'd been moving around the country moving up jobs, my older brother spent most of is childhood in council houses or hospital accommodation but when i was born we were starting to get more money in, so i only spent my first 5 years in a council house and can't really remember it but we moved from wales to east london (homerton hospital) for a while, then to stoke where we lived in a 3 bed house until i was about 13. my dad became a consultant by then so we had more money than before, moved to just outside birmingham got a decent 5 bed house and i went to grammar school in a very middle class area.
thats seems not much different to other stories here but that makes me 100% middle class imo, anyone that goes or went to a paid school for a year or more is too.
