But that's cause he's wearing yellow cons with that get-up, not cause he's old

Alright style guru, just because you dress like a binman doesn't mean everyone has to, and what does it even have to do with this thread?

Imo as with most things there's no straight answer. Also believe that as you get older (late 20's to 30's) you sort of hone your style and find a look that works for you. Think its more likely that you would regret looks and items of clothing when you were young over what you would wear in your 30's to 40's.

Find what you like, what works for you and wear what you want provided you feel comfortable doing so, fuck what anyone else thinks or says.

I agree with that Kadafi. I did start wondering if I was too old for trainers as I passed 40 and don't tend to wear them much these days if i'm honest (apart from some plain white and some peanut suede Claes…wouldn't mind some plain white CPs when I'm flush). Each to their own though.

you can wear those brands in a classy or in a silly way. simple rule, if a piece is hard to pull off in your 20's it's nearly impossible to wear when you're over 40.

Hem size is largely irrelevant - it's the size of the knee & thigh. I've got jeans that have a hem of under 7" but have an 8" knee & 11.5" thigh - for a 32 waist that's pretty much slim, even if the hem is skinny.
