Flavio Girolami, one of the 2 men who founded Common Projects, posted this today and later deleted it. Wonder if there’s a basics line coming?

I'm not being an arse, but there's no such thing as decent fake leather. Besides, why would you pay through the nose for it? Common Projects is marketed as a luxury brand and as such use luxury fabrics. If they're making their shoes with faux leather and just rebranding as 'vegan friendly' how can they justify the markup? Lowering the price significant would put them at odds of their brand appeal.

I was perhaps being vague in my phrasing, but, for clarity's sake, I entirely agree with you regarding the use of fake leather, and I would not want them to use it in their shoes. Replacing the leather lining in the canvas versions is entirely doable though, and would not harm their brand image
