Flavio Girolami, one of the 2 men who founded Common Projects, posted this today and later deleted it. Wonder if there’s a basics line coming?

I need some replacement laces for my Bballs. Anyone got any good links for some that are like the originals? Thanks

Why do they still not do a vegan option? Surely, from a basic commercial standpoint it would be sensible to make something along these lines

Really, all I'm asking is that they ditch the leather lining in the canvas versions. Still not seen decent fake leather to date

I'm not being an arse, but there's no such thing as decent fake leather. Besides, why would you pay through the nose for it? Common Projects is marketed as a luxury brand and as such use luxury fabrics. If they're making their shoes with faux leather and just rebranding as 'vegan friendly' how can they justify the markup? Lowering the price significant would put them at odds of their brand appeal.

I was perhaps being vague in my phrasing, but, for clarity's sake, I entirely agree with you regarding the use of fake leather, and I would not want them to use it in their shoes. Replacing the leather lining in the canvas versions is entirely doable though, and would not harm their brand image

In the same boat here, any one picked up any decent alternatives recently?

closest i got was suitsupply did a pair as a sample last winter, they were bang on but only ever produced pairs in a 42 and never went to production. Were perfect, was gutted when they said they weren't being picked up.

If I ever see anything like that I’ll let you know. Seems so strange as it’s like the perfect combo for a trainer Evil

I remember them yes Nigel Wasn’t a massive fan of the shape and was holding out for BBalls but looks like I’ll have to consider other options sadly
