It never ceases to amaze me how stupid some high-profile politicians can be.

I don't really see the big deal though?!

He is known to be worth millions… and it's not like MPs aren't wearing formal shoes of the same value.

If he goes and buys something from Tesco / M&S / Wherever it may be 'MP panders to British Public wearing xyz, despite earning 100k per year'

Can't have it both ways though. Don't do the petrol photo op with some Sainsbury's workers Kia to try and appear normal, then wear shoes that cost 1.5% of the average workers annual salary Laughing out loud

But we all know he's loaded anyway. More surprised that the daily mail thinks it's newsworthy.

build 'em up/knock 'em down strategy the papers do, they did it with Theresa May, they did it with Johnson periodically, now it's Sunak's turn.

He was useful during for the papers during the early Covid efforts, now the pressure from readers on cost of living will be too high to ignore so gloves are off for a bit.

That's not the point though. He's in a unique position (Chancellor) at a critical period (rising cost of living) in the public eye.

He's obviously a super smart guy. Why not just buy a fucking pair of mid-price, high street trainers (e.g. Clarks) while all of this is going on? No one is going to question him on that.

He's either a) completely oblivious or b) doesn't give a shit. Makes him look like an idiot either way.

This makes literally no sense, he's a public figure, by him standing next to a kia he's not trying to portray that's his and any reasonable minded person wouldn't grasp that.

Most of us on here probably have 10-20% of his disposable income, yet still wear CP's.

But it could have gone either way as Razor posted.
Could have easily been twisted to ‘Chancellor dressing like a commoner to hide his wealth etc’.

We all know how rich he is, I’d rather he didn’t hide it to be honest.

Didn't stand next to a Kia did he, he filled it with petrol as if it was his own car for a photo op.

Just reading that now. Never ever go on daily mail website as it's trash that likes to fuel hate but was curious.

Going after him big time.
