I know you're trying to help, but stop. I want to know if the files can be embedded…. thats all… not how they can accessed in a different way, or how to put them on an ftp or how to zip or write a readme… just if and how the files can be embedded to create a standalone macro
thanks anyway

Virus scanner (like Avast or AVG) will be able to scan it without you opening it.

We have lots of cheapo monitors at the moment.
Anyone any good with Excel and Web Query files? I've created a macro that uses these web query files to pull in external HTML based data in to a spreadsheet, but i'm wondering if there is anyway of doing this without having the seperate files? Or perhaps embedding the query files within the macro? The problem is, the macro gets used by multiple sites at my company round the world and they all have access to different servers / drives. I need to save the query files to a local place for them, then give them a personalised macro that knows where to look for the query files. If I could somehow embed the files within the macro, it would rule out the need to this.
Not sure if that makes sense or not

Thats a possibility, but I was hoping there would be a way of getting away from the multiple file scenario. Essentially the query file is just a 3 line text file, so I can't see why it would be that hard to incorporate the text of it within the macro somewhere… i've played around with a few ideas, but nothing works… seems like it has to be a seperate file… which seems strange. Nothing on Google as far as I can see either
thanks anyway
I've just downloaded a zip file from rapidshare but I'm not sure if it's trustworthy or not. I am yet to open the zip file. How do I check the downloaded file to check it hasn't got any viruses in it?
