My dad bought something online and posted it back for a refund as he no longer wanted it. They received the goods but he was still waiting for a refund so he sent them an email asking where is my money as you have had the goods now for 14 days, surely that's long enough to check them over and refund me.

Their reply

"Please note you used the item and then returned it contrary to our terms and conditions and the distance selling regulations, out of goodwill we decided to refund you even though we did not have to.

You have already had a refund but I guess writing this email gives you more satisfaction than checking that you have actually had a refund?

In retail we get all kinds of customers, luckily all are not like you"

He never even used their goods and I'm sure you get 7 days to return stuff anyway under the distance selling regulations. I just couldn't stop laughing at how smarmy and rude their reply was

Thanks fuckface but i can read. I was asking because the companyclaimed he had already had a refund, i was trying to clarify if they were lying or your dad was mistaken.
