Anyone know if the EU - Canada CETA free trade deal means that personal imports won't get hit for import tax?

Just brought a some tees from the USA, $133 for the tees, then $50 shipping. Am I going to get stung at this price and if so, any idea what it will likely be? Will I avoid fees if seller marks as gift, value below $39? Thanks

Always get them to mark down. A value of 30 dollars and marked as a gift is normally ok for me in France. I always choose normal post too, not courriers. Not sure about the UK though.

Wanting to order from Ssense, the item I’m after says near the price “Taxes and Duties included” just want to make sure I won’t get stung by any additional fees etc?

Any help appreciated, not had anything from Ssense before.

Does exactly what it says on the tin.

I ordered some CPs last summer and didn't get stung as the duties are already paid up front to DHL. Really quick shipping as well.

Are Parcel Force usually quite slow in notifying of any customs charges? Got something coming from Hong Kong which arrived in the UK and has been stuck at customs since the 2nd, but had no letter or request for money yet.

Don't think you'll get any letter until it's actually arrived at a delivery depot.

Ring PF customer services line with your tracking number, explain you havent received a letter and are willing to pay over the phone there and then as the item is urgent. If its processed through customs then you can bypass waiting for the invoice, which of late seems to be taking longer for them to process.

Forgot to follow this up, cheers - this worked, although they were reluctant to do it without the reference code. Customs charge was less than half what I expected too!

Anyone brought from Union before? One their site they talk about us obviously being responsible for custom charges, but do you know if they’ll mark it down if I ask?

Had something shipped from States, full value declared, apparently told 5% VAT would be needed as shop didn't add tax… should I expect a bill later?
