They're going up climbs faster than Pantani and Armstrong etc who were known to be doped to the eyeballs. Froome's transformation from bike pusher who was on the verge of being let go in '11 to one of the best cyclists in the world would have to be one of the greatest transformations in sporting history.

Can't say for certain they're doping, but to suggest that learning to wash your hands properly and banning nutella is the reason for their dominance is laughable

Is there an English summary of this and the comments ToD makes above?

The sport has been gamed for years, from lead weighted bottles, rum & amphetamines to 'designer drugs' that are just different enough to dodge tests administered wittingly or otherwise.

so essentially - it is perfectly concievable that froomes data is accurate and fair.

Assuming the peloton is clean, would it not be more surprising if sky weren't winning, seeing as they have the biggest budget and ? (chelsea, man city)

using the data in that story and the % margin of error you can either get froome with 6.8w/kg or 5.78w/kg depending on your fancy.

Yes, as opposed to the French commentators who are convinced he is doped.

Alrite chaps, just bought my first proper road bike, Giant Defy 1 2013 model. Whats first purchases would you all recommend that are essential?

Also where should I be looking for decent looking clothing? and what basic staples should I be getting for my cycling wardrobe?

Cheers

puncture repair kit
spare inner tube(s)
tyre levers
multi-tool
pump

^ everything to carry on a ride.

then kit wise just go to wiggle and get some dhb kit. Jersey & bib shorts should do you for this weather. Maybe some arm warmers & a wind-proof jacket.

replace the tubes with latex ones, and use some sealant in them

less rolling resistance, more puncture protection
