I like Sidi shots too they are supposed to be great, bit lairy for some though and expensive!
I tried the empire SLX recently too I really like them they where really comfortable but have very thin upers so I can't see them lasting very long.
I've actually done a trade with someone for some Rapha hill clibmers but it's dragging on a bit now, I've decided if it falls through I'm going to buy the new Sidi kaos air, they look decent for £150
I've been looking for some new shoes too, the Fizik r1b are really nice, little bit more than I want to spend though.
I did consider Sidi's some time ago, but apparently the fit is pretty tight/italian!
I'm more in the mindset of wanting to buy once, if i can, and replace parts that wear away, hence the lakes. There are others that do replacement parts as well, but i am concious of buying online, with no retailer support.
I'm trying to get a price match with Sigma, and then get them to heat mold the shoes when i pick the cervelo up on saturday. There may be a cost, but it's worth it, and i can then buy them beforehand and try them on at home without feeling i'm messing the sales rep around in store.
On a side note, Sigma were really helpful throughout the whole purchase and did not push me to buy upgrades etc. straight away, so if anyone hasn't shopped there before, I would recommend them!
