fulcrum 5 probably just the ticket at that price point tbh.

shimano RS010 are the classic budget go to wheels. cheaper than fulcrums

Or racing quattros, tiny bit heavier but deeper profile if you like that look.

The tektro brake calipers on my bike seem pretty rubbish. Looking to get a new set of Shimano calipers. Can anyone recommend what I should go for? Tyres are currently 25mm but the bike can take up to 27mm.

These are a great price on planet x at the min and will give you serious stopping power.

Oddly £65 if you add the front and rear to basket separately or £70 for the pair…

Hope they're decent, got these today Laughing out loud

Look like they've only got rears now but decathlon had pairs for £60 at the weekend.

Hey MrW.

You’re bike looks quite expensive. What was wrong with your original brakes?

I have Tektro brakes and I can skid with my back brake and my front is good when I use it. How are these Shimano any better?
If I can lock my brakes I don’t see the benefit of upgrading.

Original brakes & pads weren't all that, pretty sure these'll be a step up. If they're not, they'll at least look better Eye-wink

I’m just gonna order new brake pads first.
The stock ones are supposed to be shit.
Although I do feel my brakes are ok I’ll see if there’s any difference with them salmon efforts.

Just had my first cleat ride.
Pretty cool.
Upped my average speed by 1mph and it’s really windy today too.
Thanks to MrW for the pedals.

Had a few issues clipping in after stopping but for a first ride it felt good.
Not sure how people fall over/forget to unclip.

The Rapha cross shoes are comfy as fuck.

SPD, I like to be able to walk relatively comfortably.
Got the multi release cleats but they feel a bit too easy to release.
Getting the normal cleats tomorrow and I’ll compare.

I never thought I’d get the full gear. I wasn’t even a cyclist this time last year. Not for 25 years anyway.

Now I’ve spent a ton on Rapha gear and have gone full cycling idiot.
Lost nearly two stone so am loving it.

Any recommendations on spd footwear for mountain biking that are wearable off the bike and are aesthetically as far away from cycle shoes as poss? 5 Ten seem to be about as good as it gets.

When will you ever be wearing them off the bike?
