Nice one, illwill. Got no experience of this whatsoever despite being knocked off myself a coupla times so any suggestions are really appreciated.

£500 for a Trek Roscoe 7? Good deal? Are those 3" wheeled bikes good to ride?

Been mowing through crotches on my work jeans/chinos. Commute is only 10 mins.

I'm thinking it's because I have a shitty fabric saddle. Can anyone confirm that a slippery leather/plastic saddle is any better?

Depending on how much heat you're packing there's probably less friction on a non-fabric saddle.

A slippier saddle would improve things but cycling-specific trousers (if it's an option) would probably help too. I wear through crotches pretty quick just walking (yes thunder thighs) but some Endura and Altura bike shorts I wear have lasted several years (although I'm wearing a lycra liner under those so that will reduce the friction between leg and material a bit).

Also, any recommendations for a decent wheelset? I've got got disc brakes and was looking at the Hunt Aero or 4 Season. I've a Specialized Roubaix running some Axis Elite Discs.

How's the sizing on that jersey?

I have a pair of Oakley Jawbreaker photochromic glasses I'm selling. Worn twice, £95

Thought this might be of interest to anyone in London that wants to learn about bike maintenance. Might be basic stuff, but it's free.

I want to give cycling a serious go and am in need of some kit. What are some good brands of (clothing) kit i'd should look out for.

Also brands that are a bit more generous in sleeve length are massively appreciated.

Also, at what kind of temperatures does one get their long bibs out? Sub-zero?
