What do you guys wear to ride in when it's these sort of temps outside? Have got the Planet X Magma jersey/jacket thing but was sweating up riding in it today, had a long sleeve base on underneath.

Long sleeve Uniqlo heatech base layer with long sleeve Adidas thermal jersey and Albion gilet. Still a bit hot as the gilet is insulated but they do a standard version. No real need for a jacket unless it’s raining.

It’s all about merino, it makes such a huge difference.

This is one of the best cycling things I’ve ever bought, it’s so warm, breathable and it wicks sweat away for £45 it’s a steal https://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-merino-long-sleeve-base-layer-1/

This merino buff is so versatile, and works a treat for keeping the cold out https://www.wiggle.co.uk/buff-lightweight-merino-wool-1/

Then a mix of overshoes in subzero temps or merino socks, with various winter specific jerseys, hats, gilet, and bib trousers (all Rapha sales buys). Winter kit is expensive but keeping the cold out it worth it

Cheers will check out the merino stuff. Went out this morning in a btwin base, long sleeve jersey and windstopper gilet and was still sweating. Think I need to experiment with the base layer.

up top - rapha LS thermal jersey (very thin fleece) with a thin SS jersey underneath (should buy some base layers). Then a castelli thermal pro vest. I also have a castelli "neck thingy" for face/neck… sometimes i swap the gilet/jersey combo out for a void softshell, but the fit isnt as racey - more handy if it could rain though

bottoms - shoes + castelli toe thingys (would change to full overshoes if wet), rapha merino knee warmers and rapha pro team thermal bibs

I would only ever go full tights + soft shell + ear warmer hat between 0-4 degrees.. and that is when it has been dry! tend to not go out in those temps if it has been recently wet

I am big fan of having shins out.. good knee and toe warmers + thermal bibs really are great!

I don't believe in base layers unless it's very cold. Bib longs and a decent winter LS jersey, if it's a bit warmer then SS jersey and merino armwarmers is the one so you can pop them off if you get sweaty.

I dunno - I find wearing a fleecey/thermal LS without something under it a bit strange. bit like those people who wear v-neck jumpers with nothing underneath (cretins)

Had this one for a few years - frame clip snapped off early doors (mountain bike crash) but I just chuck it in my saddle bag. Good piece of kit.

Got this one, similar to the Topeak one mentioned above. Does the job.

Bought Sportful Fiandre Norain thermal tights & jacket a couple of years back for when it's 5c or less but after new bike / slam last year I'd rather do a couple of hours on zwift. If it's that cold roads are likely to be covered in salt, grit and other shit anyways.

Got some Assos Mille GT spring fall tights for Xmas, 3/4 length ftw.
