All your posts are fucking retarded. Telling us how much he wants to spend would be a good starting point

Tell him to look on Planet X website. Some great bikes on there for around the £600 mark that will be perfect for thrashing about on a commute.

This ok for the money? Don’t want to spend more than £300. I know nothing about bikes and need one for a couple of bike rides with mates coming up this summer. Won’t be used much after that. Any guidance appreciated.

You're better off getting a newer, cheaper bike given how much bike tech has changed. Something like this looks decent. Worth keeping an eye on.

I literally need it for a couple of very relaxed rides this summer and then it will be collecting dust. Also needs to be within driving distance, the one i linked is 15 miles away from me. Just want to know it isn’t a piece of shit really.

if it's only needed temporarily have you looked at renting or borrowing a bike? spec wise the Felt is fine for the money, but I'd be wary buying a full carbon bike that's 6-7 years old. not only as the material will have improved leaps and bounds since then, there's a chance it could have been knocked / compromised and that might be difficult to spot before you notice it whilst out on a ride.

same as for the question about a bike for commuting further up this page, depends what you're after? Messenger style roll top that you can fit shit loads into but isn't particularly light or breathable, or something more streamlined that won't give you a sweaty back?

For the latter of these two try osprey, and for a roll top or other messenger style bag have a look at Chrome, although I've not owned one, as I have a Roadrunner one that I haven't needed to replace yet. (I'd recommend Roadrunner but don't know of a UK stockist, got mine from their webshop and had to pay customs).

I have a couple of different sized Deuter backpacks for commuting on my bike and they're both excellent build quality for the money. The smaller one (race lite) has been used and abused most days for over 5 years and is still going strong. Designs are a bit shit but really high quality and function.

Laughing out loud on paper the Osprey offerings are definitely best.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a commuter jacket? The Rapha commuter looks perfect but most of the reviews say it's a sweatbox.

I've always found wearing proper layers underneath and a windproof jacket does the job most of the time. All the thicker jackets will just make you sweat after a while, unless you're riding arctic conditions.
