Funny you say that Swede, was about to pull the trigger on some DHB MTBs, but with laces.

Would you not get lacing again?

Always liked the look of the Fizik shoes. They are pretty narrow though

I have the dhb dial road shoes, fantastic value for money

I don't know much about MTB closures but I imagine their shoes will be decent for the price

Looking to get the DHB Doricas which have the laces for either the fixed (Dola Pre Cursa) or swapping out on the condor Fratello for riding around in the summer.

Not planning to take public transport for the foreseeable future, so would be useful to be able to walk around at the other end if just for a coffee/in the park, which I currently struggle to do in my SIDIs!

Lakes Swede, got some CX237 off sportpursuit and they are fantastic. Leather uppers, double boa, stiff carbon sole, good ventilation without being "too airy" on cold mornings, and their website size charts are second to none. Defo worth a look.

I'd not heard of them either but I watched Francis Cade's vlogs with James the bike fitter at bicycle Richmond and he has high praise for them.

Lakes are really great shoes with a high quality but most of them looking like sh*t.

I switched from boa to laces and now back to boa. If you have wide feet go with Lakes, Bonts or Shimanos which will be all available in wide (problem with Bonts - 1 out of 100 stores has them in stock and they are never or almost never on sale)

Always put Lake up there with Sidi as the ultra-technical, ultra-expensive shoes. Shoes that shout out "I'm different, I'm a pair of CYCLING shoes". Mainly MAMIL territory.

Is it only me that thinks Bonts look ugly AF?

Don't pros just tend to wear their own choice of shoe rather than a team specific brand? Christian Knees had some custom Lakes when they were riding for Sky

always liked the fit of sidis and would be tempted to go back to them tbh. just wondering what was "cool" atm other than s-works shoes (yawn)

If the team allows it, yes!

Bont and Lake are of the same ilk in terms of heat moulded shoes. Kangaroo leather uppers too.

They are dear but are very good. I got mine for £205, down from £350 odd. Got Sigma to price match TriUK, (pre Mike Ashley acquisition) so may be worth a look.

Anyone know how Alé jerseys fit? Have M in Rapha Pro Team and Assos jerseys that fit spot on.
