Damn man, that sucks. It's such an awful feeling.

Yeah I had all my racks, cages and bags on it in preparation for my trip. Whoever took it left behind a Surly Crosscheck that had been abused and spray painted. Doing my due diligence/karmic responsibility I found the owner by running the serial number with Salsa and Surly's parent company. This Crosscheck of his was stolen a year and a half ago.. you never know when or how a stolen bike will turn up!
Sorry to hear Flasket. Properly takes the piss.
Anyone else think there is a gap in the market for well designed, made in the UK cycling gear? Can't see many other brands out there; Velobici is one, but aesthetics aren't great. Albion another, but part made in Italy too. I'm thinking the equivalent of PNS/MAAP but better design.
Cycling gear generally has a higher price point, so could justify made in the UK too?

got myself a used bike, so going to use the cyclescheme to get the accessories, problem is I want some Rapha bits, but I'm assuming only Rapha stock their clothing, haven't seen them on Evans or Decathlon.
Is anyone aware of an online retailer that does a full range of cycling accessories that also carry Rapha Lock, helmet, lights, Hexlox/Pitlock ?

Thanks man, what's the Standert like?
Did my first commute today on my road bike, but thinking it won't last too long given the shit conditions of some of the road vs 25mm tires. Looking at some British steel brands, Fairlight in particular look decent. Fucking waiting lists everywhere.
On a side note, any recommendations on base layers? Bought 3 of the Rapha mesh merino wool ones in eBay a while ago (£10 each!), which are amazing but also means I'm spoilt when it comes to pricing.

It's worth signing up to SportPursuit if you're not already. They usually have some decent base layer (sometimes a bit random) brands on there. I have one of the IsoBaa ones which is good quality (wouldn't pay full price for it though). I've picked up Icebreaker and Smartwool stuff from there in the past.
